Capri

Today we took a trip to Capri after breakfast. We took a big boat over to the island and then when we arrived we hired a small private boat to take us around the island for a tad more than any other means of transportation. Since we had the private boat we were able to see things that most tourists aren't able to which is always a plus.
Today was an Italian holiday. Some worker's holiday or some such thing. That meant that everyone and their brother went to Capri as well. The scenery is absolutely unbelievable. The water is more blue and clear than anything I have ever seen. We went to Capri and then to Anacapri and rode the cable car up to the top of the mountain. The view was absolutely incredible. By the time we got back down to the actual city of Anacapri, taking the public bus would not have been an option to make it back to our boat to Sorrento in time. We had to get a taxi and therefore had the full Italian experience of the roads. The roads do more than just wind around and the width for two cars is as wide as we have for 1 car in the US. Drivers around here tend to be a little more patient than in Athens. When buses passed oncoming cars, there was maybe 3 inches in between them. A little scary, but interesting. People don't seem to hit eachother very often which is amazing. We arrived back at the hotel and had another fabulous dinner on the patio while watching a fabulous sunset. All the food is amazing. Everything is fresh and has so much flavor.

As for tomorrow, we don't know exactly what we are doing, We will decide when the day is come. Dad flies out tomorrow, and so then it will just be us 3 ladies. (that might get a little scary) Until then, ciao!
